Lifting Training
Manual Handling
For any individual required to carry out manual handling. Provides delegates with a thorough understanding of how to minimise injury risk to themselves and others by increasing awareness of manual handling hazards in the workplace and their outcomes.
In-Service Inspection and Management of Lifting Equipment
Designed for those who are required to carry out lifting inspections with training on correct marking, storage and handling of equipment. Course content includes how to identify any signs of damage or wear which affects the fitness of lifting equipment for use.
Slinging and Signalling
To ensure operations can be carried out safely, it is vital that operators of lifting appliances and accessories are aware of the correct use of equipment within company procedures, safe systems of work and the consequences of improper practices.
Thorough Examination of Lifting Equipment Accessories
The course looks at the documentation required and the various inspection techniques and rejection criteria of portable lifting equipment, including how to produce reports and certification of thorough examination.
Slinging and Rigging
Designed to teach operators to rig lifting equipment safely. Rigging equipment should be made available on-site to move loads.
Pendant/Remote Controlled Crane Operation
Teaches operators to safely sling loads and to operate a pendant / remote controlled crane.

NPORS
The National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) is widely recognised in Construction, Industrial, Utilities, Warehousing and Distribution, Agriculture, Ports and the Marine sectors. It allows for operative testing on site, and we have access to trainers both nationally and internationally.
CPCS
The Construction Plant Competence Card Scheme (CPCS) is accepted on every UK construction site and is the most recognised way of proving an operative’s competence. Members of the UKCG (UK Contractors Group) and MHBG (Major House Builder Group) demand that plant operatives comply with the scheme before being allowed on-site.
NVQs
We offer a wide variety of construction and plant based NVQs. Should you hold a current CPCS Red Trained Operator card Speedy can offer NVQ assessments to convert this to a Competent Operator (Blue) card.
Safety Equipment, First Aid and Fire
Emergency First Aid at Work
For those whose employment requires management of a medical situation until help arrives, or when an employer’s assessment of first aid identifies that a First Aider is not necessary. Provides delegates with the ability to undertake basic life support and emergency procedures in the event of an accident or injury, until trained help arrives.
